Penetrating this collection of papers is the Nineteenth Century poets urge for communication. When poets feel a great sense of crisis in their lives and society as in the Nineteenth Century England, they feel uncertainty in their role as poets and their search for a means of effective communication becomes desperate. And in the process. they want to confirm their place. literary and social, by seeking various ways. Many poets try to get away from the influence of their predecessors, to find their own voice and create their own poetic world. It is natural that, in the process. they become sensitive to the effciency of language : they are often suspicious of the efficacy of language as a means of conveying truth, and try to find some alternative ways of communication, giving variety to language usage.
